REPORT: Here’s The 1 Eagles Player Who Wanted To Visit The White House

The Philadelphia Eagles have quickly become hated by Trump supporters after they tried playing politics with their invite to the White House, which at any other point in history should be an honor and special occasion for any sports team.

But fear not, Eagles fans… there has been one main player who was all ready and set to visit President Trump at the White House.

DailyWire reports:

On Monday, President Trump caused a stir by announcing that the Philadelphia Eagles were officially disinvited from the White House after only “a small number of players” confirmed that they were attending the celebration of their Super Bowl victory on Tuesday.

The NFL Network looked into just exactly which of the Eagles had agreed to go and found that “small number” was perhaps a slight overstatement.

As Caleb Howe highlights, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo revealed on Tuesday that the only member of the team he could confirm had told the White House he was going to the event was the MVP of the Eagles Super Bowl victory, quarterback Nick Foles.

Other than Foles, Garafolo said he could not confirm another player, but noted that two more might have gone, equaling a grand total of three.

Trump’s decision to disinvite the team set off yet another media firestorm and inspired some other athletes, most notably LeBron James and Steph Curry, to work in a few more jabs at the president.

Of all the responses, perhaps none were stronger than that of the Democratic Philadelphia mayor, who unloaded on Trump for the decision, despite it being prompted by most of the team’s unwillingness to attend. “Disinviting them from the White House only proves that our President is not a true patriot, but a fragile egomaniac obsessed with crowd size and afraid of the embarrassment of throwing a party to which no one wants to attend,” said Mayor Jim Kenney.

The White House went ahead and held a “Celebration of America” event on Tuesday anyhow, for which a few hundred people gathered, including some Philadelphia fans, but, according to reports, likely more staffers than anything else.
