After Nike’s ridiculously silly (and disrespectful) decision to use former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick for their new “Just Do It” ad series, the company faced social media backlash from conservatives in numbers they could have never dreamed of.
But one southern mayor who’s known for not holding back is taking the fight against Nike and Colin Kaepernick to a whole new level — and we have to say, well done, Mr. Mayor!
Wait, are you serious?
Nike has seen sales skyrocket since the announcement of an ad campaign surrounding former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick last week, but you won’t be seeing any sales coming from a city in Louisiana.
Kenner, Lousiana mayor Ben Zahn has reportedly banned any city money from being spent on Nike products as of September 5th, according to a private memo that was sent out:
Just confirmed this is real.
The City of Kenner, Louisiana just banned all purchases of Nike in their parks and recreation department.

The memo comes days after the announcement from Nike, but the memo doesn’t mention Colin Kaeperick.
