Its initial debut shattered expectations with a shocking 18 million viewers, but that was before the DVR views were counted. Those results just came in and all we can say is WOW. Great job, Roseanne!

The premiere of ABC’s politically provocative reboot of “Roseanne” hit 25 million viewers last week, according to new totals from a three-day measurement system.
The new numbers, generated by utilizing the “live plus three” measuring system, show the March premiere brought in 25 million viewers and a 7.3 rating from adults from ages 18-49, the Hollywood Reporter writes.
“Live plus three” is a way of measuring television audiences that accounts for TiVos and other recording services. The system revises the traditional way of measuring viewership, which only counted live program views.
According to the entertainment news outlet, the last series to add nearly 6.6 million viewers to their day-of watch count was ABC’s “How to Get Away With Murder” in 2014.
“Roseanne” originally aired from 1988 to 1997. In the 2018 reboot, Roseanne Barr plays a supporter of President Trump who is in conflict with her family over her political views.
The 8 p.m. hour has previously belonged to hit ABC shows such as “The Middle” and “Fresh Off the Boat.”
