When Obama was in office, a shocking number of US-based companies were driven into the ground for a variety of reasons, one of them being regulations. Specifically, environmental regulations that, at best, were absurd and nothing more than a government money-grab.
Harley Davidson was one of those classic American companies that the Obama administration tried to bring down with a host of bizarre regulations that were only in place to further the administration’s fake “climate change” narrative (which made a lot of liberals a lot of money).
Well, thank God for President Trump… he just fixed all of that…
Truth Division reports:
Last year, former President Barack Obama and his administration tried to take down Harley-Davidson.
They forced the motorcycle company to pay $15 million because they sold devices that allowed riders to shut down the bike’s emissions control system — which was another side effect of Obama’s disastrous climate change agenda.
However, President Donald Trump reversed Obama’s extortion of Harley-Davidson — and sang praises for the company for building in America.
The New York Times reported:
On Thursday, the Trump administration said Harley-Davidson was no longer required to fund the antipollution program, knocking $3 million off the company’s bill.
The move followed a decision last month by Attorney General Jeff Sessions to halt a longstanding practice under which polluters could be compelled to pay for environmental or community projects, in addition to fines and direct compensation to victims.
To settle claims from the Gulf oil spill, for example, BP was required to spend billions on coastal restoration projects that were not directly related to spill damage. Critics have long said the practice effectively creates “slush funds” for favored organizations or causes.
